Theotokos of Mount Athos icon in velvet frame 9x12 cm

The icon depicts the Theotokos as the Patroness and Abbess of Mount Athos. She stands above the monasteries, holding an abbess's staff and a scroll, blessing her domain. The image is created using lithography with a silvered relief oklad, adorned with gilding and encrusted with rhinestones on the halo. The icon is framed in soft velvet with openwork metal corner pieces. A special capsule containing a relic from Athos is located in the lower part of the oklad. The icon serves as spiritual adornment and a blessing for the home.
